3DS Update Adds Amiibo Settings and More

A new 3DS update was recently released, and it adds the Amiibo settings menu to the 3DS, 3DS XL, and 2DS!  (Sorry for the bad quality)

Save/Load Menu Layout

Now you can save your layout of the Home menu, which includes the theme and how things are arranged, and use a different one when you want to. You can save up to eight different layouts, and load them whenever you want. But it does remove the menu layout you are currently using, so make sure to save it first.

 

Theme Shop

New themes were added to the theme shop as well as more categories so that you can search by series. I love the new Kirby themes.

Amiibo Settings

The Amiibo Settings menu was finally added to the normal 3DS, 3DS XL, and 2DS! As you can see below, you will see that you will need a separate NFC reader and writer for the 3DS to read the Amiibo. The NFC reader/writer is NOT RELEASED YET. Just putting it on the touch screen won't work. You will also need to update the NFC reader/writer every once and a while for it to continue working. 

That's all that was in the update. Hopefully the NFC reader/writer will be released soon. When it is released, people who don't have a New Nintendo 3DS will be able to use Amiibo.
