The Nintendo 3ds Amiibo Adapter that will be coming out in 10/3/2015 or Oct. 3 2015. The adapter will read your Amiibo so you can use them on your 3ds. In the Americas they are only making New Nintendo 3ds XLs, so buying and using the adapter is the only way you can use Amiibo with a standard Nintendo 3ds, or you have to import all of your games and your standard New Nintendo 3ds from other parts in the world.
I predict that the adapter will be about 10-15$ or slightly more. To use the NFC adapter, you will need to make the front face the infrared sensor on the 3ds or 2ds, and place the Amiibo on it. But for the New 3ds, you just need to place it on the touch screen.
The Wii u has a small sign that looks like two round edged rectangles overlapping each other. You place your Amiibo on it and then they'll work.
